Alison is an improvising musician. She performs, teaches, facilitates, coaches. She is the creator and caretaker of mahaloArts. She earned a degrees and conducted a careers in architecture before earning two degrees in music and found her calling. She is a graduate of Music for People’s Musician and Leadership Program. Began life in NY, then moved to NC, HI, FL and now resides in the North Carolina community of Saxapahaw, a fabulous little village smack in between the Triangle and Triad regions, where music, the creative arts and sustainable living in general is vigorously intersecting.
Beverly is a cross-cultural percussionist and educator, blending music, movement, and spoken word in solo and ensemble presentations. Embracing drumming traditions and inspirations of Africa, Cuba, South America and her native North Carolina, she weaves colorful rhythmic tapestries with her infinite array of collected and homemade instruments.
Casey is a bass player living in Durham NC. He records and performs regularly with Nathan Bowles, Jake Fussell, Skylar Gudasz, and H.C McEntire among others. A member of the band Mount Moriah, most recently he has appeared as a touring member of Strand of Oaks and Apex Manor. In 2020 he was featured in IndyWeek.
Carter was born in Chapel Hill, now lives in Carrboro NC. He is a jazz, blues, gospel, and pop singer who also plays harmonica, bass and saxophone. He has been a professional musician for over 45 years performing across the country. Bands he has played with include Heartwood, Nightshift, Steps, The Powerhitters, and String of Pearls. Presently he has been performing with Armand and Bluesology, Doug Prescott Band, Danny Gotham, Robert Griffin and Scott Sawyer. He was a music teacher and band director at Cary Christian School for many years, and is now an Associate Minister at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Chapel Hill.
