"Classic Meets Cool" is what happens when Barron Ryan meets a piano. With a concert repertoire that glides flawlessly from Debussy to Joplin, The Jackson 5 to Frederic Chopin, Ryan's impressive talent and mega-watt magnetism are quickly amassing a nationwide following. It is our good fortune that he is passing through NC so that we can add our own endorsement. Ryan has been a hit wherever he's played, including the Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival, the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, and on tours in Israel and Japan. Equally adept at classical, jazz, and pop, he has earned praise for his "wonderful combination of technical artistry and ingratiating personality that really sells his performances." Our invitation-only concert will include some classical works, transcriptions of jazz pianists like Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum, original pop song arrangements by the performer, as well as some surprises.
